Cliff Notes

Lodan is a London based Alternate Universe (AU) Victorian era steam-punk reality, where the Industrial Revolution really took off. Then, a portal opened up and a bunch of these 'other beings' (known as Andersweltlers) cross over into the city. The major clash is Tech/Magic where the locals of Lodan are steam revolutionist are all about technology and human sovereignty (it was their world to begin with after all), and the newcomers are all about Magic and sanctuary (just trying to escape the horror from their home plane).

Game play starts 100 years after the cross-over and while the Andersweltlers still aren't welcome parts of society, they have found ways to blend in and make due. It's still a dog eat dog world out there and every Faction and Guild (five in total) are fighting for power because at the end of the proverbial day, this world is still run by a monarchy and they have a temp filling in for the crown. Each players wants to A) rise in stature within their guild and B) Get their Guild Leader on the throne so they have the ultimate say in the way things are governed.
